Drug of the Nation

Drug of the Nation marked the beginning of BTC’s exploration of Hip Hop Dance Theatre. Created for Breakin Convention 2007,

Newcastle. Inspired by the Disposable Hero's of Hiphoprisy's song, of the same name, “Drug of the Nation” explored the saturation of modern society with media images, the publics' fixation with television, and the media's control over the nations collective thought.

The peice was performed again at Glastonbury Festival for three days in 2007.

The piece uses BBoying/breakdancing to explore the proliferation of advertising and media influences, juxtaposed with digital projected images.
